The Crew
The Captain of the Joka;s Wild is George Pelaez Jr. George is a Biloxi Native and was born and raised on the waters off of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Capt. George started in the Fishing industry at the young age of 16. He began his career by building a small head charter boat with his father that they called the Little Luck. Many more workboats followed.
As the Mississippi Gulf Coast changed, so did the seafood industry, and George and his father changed by venturing into the yacht-building arena. George did several conversions on yachts and dive boats, then built the 120 foot passenger yacht, Obsession. George then built the Joka's Wild I. First in a series of three, George operated this boat out of Point Cadet Marina. It was used for Charter Fishing along the Chandeleur Islands. Loving his new career field, and realizing the needs of the industry, Capt. George designed and built the fully aluminum charter yacht we are operating today, The Joka's Wild II, and you guessed it, the Joka's Wild III is being built on the ship yard at this moment, so it is guaranteed that when you fish with Capt George, you will fish First Class!
Joka's Wild has a top-notch crew. Darrin Stewart is the first mate on the boat. Darrin is a Biloxi native and an avid fisherman himself. He possesses his 100-ton Captains license. The third generation of the Pelaez fishing crew, George H. Pelaez III "Jordy" will be seen on board as a deckhand. George's father-in-law, Herbert "Check" Broussard is a deckhand and cook.
